Over the past two weeks we have welcomed two more beautiful girls into the world. One of my best friends daughters and my brothers first child. I am so excited that my Little Miss already has two great friends (lets just hope they get on together).
I have also stepped up to the mark a little at home in regards to cooking dinner or at least sorting out what we are having and being a little more organised. Who would have thought this would be a hard task? The whole coming up with an idea for the meal in the morning is what I struggle with. I finish breakfast and then already start thinking about dinner...
I try and get out for a walk each day with Little Miss in the pram. At the moment though they are talking about more bad wet weather. I am going to have to resort going to the shops again so I can at least walk around and not feel house bound.
My brother called me earlier and let me know my niece is at home now. He sounds so excited. I remember just how I was feeling three months ago. I can't believe how quickly time flies!
When I first watched the movie Julie & Julia I was so inspired both to cook and to blog. I never realised what an enormous task she undertook (I know it isn't reality). I think I will just keep blogging when I find time and cook something new each week. My mother in law gave me a copy of Mrs Beetson's Cookery and Household Management (no there was no message in it, I thought her copy was interesting and she ended up getting me a copy on eBay. It made me feel really special) anyway I keep thinking I could find a meal from their each week to try. We'll see if it happens.
Time for another feed. Until next time..

Already it's been a while since the first message
I Can't believe how quick the time goes. We have done so much since the last post! I am unsure how people find the time to write a Blog and post a message everyday. I know I could have done better than I have but there are so many things to get done in a day, every day is different and I'm tired even though Little Miss is sleeping through from last feed at 10pm until 5:30-6am.
Memorable moments since I last wrote.... a trip to the old work place, sending people clucky and thinking thank god I'm not there anymore!! My husband also happens to work there (so he is probably thanking god that I'm not there anymore too). Do you think it is wrong that one of the ladies (I assume in jest) said to him, you can't be the father she is too beautiful. Would you say that even as a joke to someone??
After that outing we ventured over to Ikea. Big mistake. I learnt that one outing a day is enough especially since she was being past from one person to another at work. Needless to say Ikea was not a big hit, Little Miss cried pretty much the while way around the maze. All I wanted was a photo frame or three. I got to the register and went the self serve checkout scanned the items and put them back into the Ikea bag meanwhile Little Miss is in the pram screaming her little lungs out. The Ikea lady then comes over so I can sign the credit card slip and tells me I can't take the bag out of the store. Is there no compensation for a screaming child?? I would however, like to say a big thank you to the lady that came over and asked if I wanted her to comfort my daughter while I finish the transaction. What is the etiquette with that? Do you hand your child over to a stranger for a minute? I politely said thank you but no thank you. Thinking to myself would she do a runner with my baby? I think next time I leave Little Miss with someone and go to Ikea by myself.
Now I also worked out that day time traffic is pretty crap. How do people get their licence? I nearly got side swiped twice. There was one guy that was going to try and overtake me in a single lane getting out of Rhodes. I didn't understand that at all. After years of complaining about peak hour traffic. I think I actually said to myself that I would prefer to be sitting in it because at least the people in it know how to drive. What is it about slowing down to 30kph to go past a speed camera? Hello you can go at the speed limit, it only gets you if you are going over the limit!
We have also had two family functions a surprise visit from friends that live in Perth. The family functions are great but they are long days. Everyone wants a cuddle which is nice because my arm has time to recover. After the first one (both have been on Sundays) the whole sleep pattern for Little Miss changed, she woke at 2am! She hadn't done that for 2-3 weeks. I got up gave her the dummy, patted her and told her to go back to sleep. I didn't actually think it would work but I went back to bed all the same. She cried again I got up and did the same thing and she went back to sleep for another 2 1/2 hours. Unfortunately it happened 4 days running but then settled back again. I was hesitant about the next Sunday night after a long day, and so I should have been. She woke at three and didn't really settle. I ended up dosing on the couch with her until my husband came through and said come back to bed. She then woke and started crying and I new it was time to feed her. At least by this time it was 5am. Thankfully last night she slept through again.
I have worked out that my brain functions at its best when I am trying to get to sleep. I keep thinking of all these things I can write about, all the things I need to do and tell my husband, everything... Unfortunately I don't remember any of it the next morning or if I do it is for about a minute and unless I write it down or do it straight away I forget it again. I got as far as putting a pen next to my bed, now all I need is the paper and hopefully, I will be able to switch off and sleep.
Well I have been here for too long and have things to get done around the house while someone is asleep. Until next time...
